Ingwer Magnussen was a cabinetmaker by trade and a craftsman and businessman by heart. Ingwer took the bold initiative to start his own business in Kitchener, Ontario, when he was unable to find work during the 1930s depression. He beautifully and intricately carved show wood for sofa frames for upholstery manufacturers and his business grew into a good-sized company serving Canada. Today Magnussen has transformed into a full line furniture manufacturer with a strong presence in North America with an emerging business presence around the world.
